A mixture of herbs and spices in Greek to add spice to Greek dishes.
There are plenty of ready-made seasoning mixes in grocery stores, but it’s pretty easy to make them yourself! I use Greek seasoning often enough to have it on hand to quickly replenish stocks according to Greek recipes! This Greek-style seasoning contains some herbs that are commonly used in Greek cuisine, such as oregano, parsley, dill, thyme and marjoram, as well as garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
I like to cook several portions of this seasoning and store it in an airtight container so that it can be quickly added to dishes. One of my favorite features of making my own spice mixes is that you can control their composition! Don’t you like herbs? Give them up! Do you really like weeds? Use them more often! Are you trying to control your sodium intake? Reduce the amount of salt or eliminate it completely! No matter how you prepare this Greek seasoning, it’s so easy to have it on hand to add to your next Greek-style dish!
